Setapp the only Subscription Service worth its Salt

By and large, I am not fond, to say the least of subscription services. I will only take one if I feel there is nothing else that meets my needs even somewhat closely. However, there is one subscription service I like and that’s Setapp. The reason for this is I feel you are getting some true value for your money whereas most subscription services are simply ripoffs.

Service as subscription whereas product as Sale

When purchasing something, generally we consider a service that delivers value continuously as a subscription such as the hydro. However, a product does not fall into this category whatsoever. As an example, TextExpander became subscription but it is the most illogical thing I can think of. You basically had to switch products or stay with their v1 to maintain your outright sale status. However, it is likely this will become stale dated so to speak.

If every piece of software we bought was on a subscription we’d be broke on very few pieces of software. I like text expansion such as TextExpander but I can live without it. I don’t have to though as there are many fine other products, such as Typinator that fill the requirement beautifully. I’d rather not be broke over some useful but really useless piece of software if I can avoid it.

Setapp as a Value ad Subscription based Service

Setapp is a relatively new game in town. It does things based on a subscription but you can get great value for your money. Setapp is constantly adding to its roster of products available for consumption, so if you wanted to either give a group of products a try or one in particular, it is hard to go wrong with this service. For $100 per year you could basically try out a product or group of products to see how they perform for you. It is highly cost effective, especially as you add Setapp apps to the roster.

Each month, Setapp is adding new services so they have gotten to quite the set of products. You could choose products that might meet a whole application area.

Setapp is the one subscription based service that I think provides great value for the money and it’s only getting better.
